Corbin's Pirate Party

We had a great birthday party for Corbin. He loved playing with all the great kids that were able to come. We did a craft, had a treasure hunt, ate cake, broke the pinata, and opened some great gifts. Corbin got some books, games, toys, and the group gift of a swing set. Jason and our exchange student Henrik have been working on putting it together for 3 days. They had some extra help here and there from my dad, Tiffany ( cousion), and 2 other exchange students Alan & Emaneule. I guess the instuctions were right when they said 2 skilled workers for 20 hours. At least it's done and Corbin LOVES it. That was the point. He was outside helping by bringing screws when asked. He also would go check on "the crew" from time to time. We would take out water and snacks to keep them working. It's great that we now have it for him and his sister to enjoy for years to come. If you get a chance come over and play. It even holds big kids, I tried.

Happy Birthday Corbin

Today is Corbin's 3rd birthday. It really is amazing how fast it goes. He's such a big boy now. He still loves tractors and playing in the dirt. He is a GREAT big brother. He sings many songs, can say his ABC's, and his numbers ( mostly in order ). He can even count to 10 in spanish. I remember being pregnant with him thinking he was never going to come. He was a great pregnancy and it was okay with me that he wasn't coming. However he did come, in his own time. He was 6 days late, the day before I was to be induced. He still doesn't like to be rushed. He truly does things in his own time. He's an AMAZING kid and we love him so much. Tommarrow is the Pirate party. We can't wait. That and the reveal of the group gift. Photos of that later. :)

Dylan & Shelby are great kids and fun to have visit. The time went way to fast and hope they can come and visit again soon.

Slacker

I know I'm a slacker about Blogging. However things have been busy. So here's the everything update.

The garden went well. Stuff actually grew. We got a handfull of Radishes, a few carrots, tons of squash, and a watermellon. Amazing I know. We plan to increase the size of the garden next year. We also hope to remember to label what we plant.

We took the kids to San Diego. We went to the Childrens Mesum, Sea World, Zoo, and the beach. We had a great time. The kids loved seeing the animals. Corbin loves the beach. He build some great sand castles.

Our exchange students came in. They are from Norway, Germany, Columbia, & Chille. They are a great bunch of kids and we have enjoyed getting to know them.

We went to LA with our kids and took some of the exchange students with us. We went to the Hollywood sigh, Knotts berry farm, beach, and Universal Studios. It was a busy weekend. Corbin was just tall enough for the kid rides and had a wonderful time. We had to tear him away to get dinner. Corbin even got to ride a roller coster. Keeley watched and had fun seeing the big smiles on Corbin's face. It was really a great time.

Keeley got interested in solids. However that only lasted a few days. I made a bunch of baby food for her and then she decided she only wanted her milk. So at least it's all made from farmers market food. I did give her rice cereal tonight and she loved it. Hopefully it will do it's job and her her sleep longer between feeding at night.

Well I think that's it for now. I will try to do better.

The Snake

Yes, you read that right. We had a snake on our back porch last night. Jason was taking out the trash and hear this rattling near his feet. He looked down and away it went, toward the house. Thank goodness the kids were sleeping. So he took care of it. He comes back in and is so excited to show me. GROSS!! So I humor him and go out back to look and it starts moving. So he takes his head off. Really GROSS. This morning Jason & Corbin were up early. I was so happy for a little sleep. However when I get up Corbin can't wait to tell me and show me the snake skin. Yes they took off the tail and skinned the snake. The skin was drying on a board and Corbin is telling me he wants to put it up in his room. I guess it really shows I didn't have any brothers.

The Colic Cure We Use

As many of you know Keeley has Colic. Yes she is better since going off lactos, but some days are still not easy. I now totally understand why some parents do the silliest things to get there kids to stop screaming. I have heard about putting the baby on the dryer and driving around the block for hours to help. However my child is different. She hates her car seat and doesn't like her bouncy seat that so many other moms swear by. However we have found what works for us. It's the quad. I know she's so little and you are probably thinking we are nuts. However when it's one of those times we simple sit with her on it and turn it on. The noise combined with the vibration works wonders. It has actually put her to sleep. So when all else fails, get creative, it just might work.

The Roller Continued

Tonight Keeley totally surprised us. She rolled over from her back to her belly. I thought it would be a few more months before this happened. She really is strong and determined.  She's pretty funny too because after she gets to her tummy she gets upset. She does not like being on her tummy. She is happy. Corbin was even cheering her on one of the times she did it.

The Sweetest Words

The other night I was tucking Corbin into bed. He said to me "I'm proud of you mom." I asked "why are you proud of me?" He said "because you got me baby sister and I love her so so much for ever and ever." So for all of you who were wondering how well Corbin likes Keeley I think that answers your question.

Some days are better than others

This morning was rough so I decided to take Corbin to McDonalds for lunch. Things were going well and then I smelt something. I had him finish eating and then we headed off to the bathroom. It was bad, so bad we had to change his clothes. So I get him all cleaned up and undressed. Things are working pretty well especially since I have Keeley in the baby bjorn on my chest. Just as I'm putting the clean diaper under Corbin's bottom Keeley throws up all over him. It was lovely. So here I am in the bathroom with 2 kids screaming. Luckily I had a big pack of wipes. I got him all clean, again and off we went. I guess some days are better than others.

The Roller

Keeley rolled over today for the first time. We are sooo proud of her. She's really growing and is such a happy baby now.
